Bioidentical

A word about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Bioidentical means identical on a molecular level to what your body produces naturally. The reason that’s important is this: a pharmaceutical company cannot get a patent on something that occurs naturally, so they have to change it a little in order to make it unique enough to patent. Once it’s patented, they can market and sell it. But once it’s changed, it’s not natural. Your body knows the difference. Yes, it may produce the same effects (or some of them), but your body tends to treat it as an unwelcome guest, and some degree of immune response is generated against it.
